COERR Mae Sarieng organized the Child Protection Referral System (CPRS) Workshop for Child Protection Committee and Stakeholders whose responsibilities are to provide protection to the children at risk, such as vulnerable children, separated children who live with other families, far from their own families, etc.

   The workshop trainer organized activities that convinced participants of children as the vulnerable at risk who tried to protect themselves but it was very difficult for them to tell the good from the bad among the people around them. Meanwhile, it was also a challenge for the community organizations to fight with the bad people who would take advantage from children, to work in order to gain children’s trust and to introduce proper activities that will involve and lead these children to know how to protect themselves and grow up to become helpful members of their community.

   Then the trainer asked the participants to analyze their role in order to ensure best coordination in child protection, which case should be referred, and how to maintain case confidentiality.

   The workshop was organized in Ban Mae La Oon camp on December 4, 2018 with 37 participants of 19 female and 18 male, and in Ban Mae Lama Luang camp on December 5, 2018 with 36 participants of 17 female and 19 male.

   Finally, the participants in both camps have reflected the following results from the workshops: better knowledge about child protection work; team work and coordination enabling children in need to be helped, which is significant. This work benefits the community and provides good consult for children, encourage them to work for the more vulnerable persons such as repairing houses and toilets for the needy, etc.

CPRS Workshop at Ban Mae Lama Luang camp on December 5, 2018

   On December 7, 2018 COERR organized the Child Protection Referral system (CPRS) Workshop at Tamarind Grand Resort, Mae Sa Riang District, Mae Hong Son Province. The contents were aimed at strengthening child protection referral system with network organizations, reviewing manual in Child Protection Referral System, updating database of organization network, including promoting good attitude and providing moral support to staff working in Child Protection. There were 26 participants from COERR, UNHCR, Sob Moei Hospital, Government official in charge of Ban Mae La Oon and Mae Lama Luang camps and NGOs working in these two camps.
